Facilities
In 1959, the City purchased land on the western boundary of the City and in 1961 opened Sunset Memorial Gardens on the corner of NW 31st Ave. and NW 19th St. This cemetery consists of 30 acres. The cemetery offers full burials, a community mausoleum, cremation niches and private ground and mausoleum estates and a designated veterans area. Recent additions to this property include a new administration building, veteran's memorial, a perimeter wall and a new maintenance building. Future improvements include a new entryway with a more aesthetically pleasing perimeter fencing and a new community mausoleum to be completed in 2011. Currently, this cemetery is open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk.
